This Star Trek Fleet Command tier list ranks the officers worth your shards and Officer XP in October 2026. Officers decide how far a ship can go in STFC, and promotions are slow to earn, so building the wrong crew costs weeks. My rankings follow the 1337wiki officer tier list (last updated June 2026, reviewed each major patch), checked against the officer abilities Scopely publishes and the officers added in the current Division 12 season.

Key Takeaways
- Janeway, Suder and Seska form the strongest PvE core for accounts that have them
- Khan and Gorkon are the top PvP officers, with Kirk and Spock as the classic morale pair
- Stonn, Barot and Quark lead mining, and Boimler, Tendi and Rutherford lead below decks
- The Cadet crew of Uhura, McCoy and Sulu is the best free starting point
- Suder is on the free track of the Division 12 Battle Pass for Ops 20 to 60
How This Tier List Works
STFC has no single meta. A crew that farms hostiles all day can be useless against a player’s base. So I rank officers by job: PvE (hostiles and daily events), PvP, mining and below decks. Within each job, S tier is what you build first, A tier covers strong substitutes, and B tier fills gaps.
Remember how crews work. The captain’s seat triggers a Captain’s Maneuver, bridge officers add their Officer Ability, and officers from the same synergy group boost the captain. A strong A-tier officer who fits your synergy can beat an S-tier officer who doesn’t.
PvE: Hostiles and Daily Events

- S tier: Kathryn Janeway, Suder, Seska, Christopher Pike, Marlena Moreau and Grace Chen
- A tier: Jean-Luc Picard, Beverly Crusher, T’Laan and Hugh
- B tier: Cadet Nyota Uhura, Cadet Leonard McCoy and Cadet Hikaru Sulu
Janeway, Suder and Seska are the current PvE core on 1337wiki. Scopely’s official officer post explains why the pair at the back works so well. Seska restores 12 to 30% of your shields each round against hostiles, and Suder repairs 12 to 24% of the hull damage you took the round before. Together they keep a ship grinding much longer. Pike with Moreau and Chen is the long-running alternative, and Picard with Beverly Crusher is a solid fallback.
Annorax is worth a mention for loot farming. His official Captain’s Maneuver increases select rewards from hostile chests.
PvP: Base Attacks and Player Fights

- S tier: Khan Noonien Singh and Gorkon
- A tier: James T. Kirk, Spock, Kang, Honorguard Worf, Liviana Charvanek and Alexander Marcus
- B tier: Kerla, Joachim, Kras, Klaa and Nero
Khan’s damage grows the longer a fight lasts, which makes him a staple for cracking bases. Gorkon is the top hull-breach officer, but he needs the right Klingon crew and ship to shine. Kirk and Spock remain the classic morale pair for survivability. The newest PvP-relevant officer is the Epic Rose Harper from Division 12. Her Below Deck ability raises Isolytic Defense against players by 400 to 1,000% on FKR ships or the U.S.S. Vengeance, so she’s a niche pick rather than a general upgrade.
Mining and Below Decks
- Mining S tier: Stonn, Barot and Quark
- Mining A tier: T’Pring, Raphaël DuPont and Dixon Hill
- Below decks S tier: Brad Boimler, D’Vana Tendi and Sam Rutherford
- Below decks A tier: Beckett Mariner and Badgey
For mining, put the officer who matches the resource you’re mining in the captain’s seat. Below-deck officers don’t sit on the bridge but still add passive bonuses, and the Lower Decks trio is the easiest group to build around.
Best Free-to-Play and Beginner Officers
- S tier for new accounts: Cadet Nyota Uhura, Cadet Leonard McCoy and Cadet Hikaru Sulu, a morale crew for early hostile farming
- A tier: Grace Chen, T’Laan, Christopher Pike and Marlena Moreau
- B tier: James T. Kirk, Spock and Next Gen Crusher
The best free pickup right now is Suder. The Division 12 Battle Pass gives him as the free-track final milestone reward to Ops 20 to 60 players, and Ops 61+ players get WOK Leonard McCoy instead. If you’re new, my Star Trek Fleet Command beginner guide explains how to assign and promote officers.
